Poultry, hatching eggs, day-old chicks and SPF-eggs

Veterinary conditions for the import and transit of poultry including ratites, day-old chicks, hatching eggs as well as specified pathogen free SPF-eggs from third countries to Switzerland.

They apply with reservation as to import bans, temporary sanitary restrictions and special conditions in force at the time of import.  
„Poultry “ means all fowl, turkeys, guinea fowl, ducks, geese, pigeons, quails, pheasants, partridges, ostriches and other ratites (Ratitae), irrespectively of the number of animals and their use.

Models of the veterinary certificates can be found on page 31 and following of Regulation (EC) No 798/2008 (consolidated version):
  • BPP: breeding or productive poultry other than ratites.
  • BPR: breeding or productive ratites.
  • DOC: day-old chicks other than of ratites.
  • DOR: day-old chicks of ratites.
  • HEP: hatching eggs of poultry other than ratites.
  • HER: hatching eggs of ratites.
  • SPF: specified pathogen-free (SPF) eggs.
