Supplementary specific requirements on importing from the EU animals, semen and embryo as “trade between bodies, institutes or centres” approved according to the provisions of Directive 92/65/EEC Annex C:
No permit based on laws on epizootics is needed to trade such animals and products between approved bodies, institutes or centres. They must be accompanied by the certificate mentioned below. If it can be ensured that the animals will exclusively stay in such centres they are normally not subject to official veterinarian monitoring after arrival. The competent cantonal veterinarian checks in the specific case if it can be guaranteed that the animals will not leave the bodies or centres, and decides on surveillance measures if not.
Models of the prescribed import certificates / documents
The official TRACES certificate model 92/65 EIII "Animals, semen, embryos and ova deriving from approved bodies, institutes or centres" is required. The official veterinarian of the consigning country has besides to announce the transfer by means of the TRACES system.
