Domestic sheep and goats from the EU

Veterinary rules on importing domestic sheep and goats from the EU to Switzerland.

They apply with reservation as to import bans, temporary sanitary restrictions and special conditions in force at the time of import.  
A „general import permit“ of the Federal office for agriculture is needed to import domestic cattle, see (in German)

The official TRACES certificate models
91/68 EI Ovines/caprines for slaughter
91/68 EII Ovines/caprines for fattening
91/68 EIII Ovines/caprines for breeding are required.

The official veterinarian of the consigning country has besides to announce the transfer by means of the TRACES system.

For animals to be slaughtered directly the additional attestation 06/04 signed by the responsible person has to be provided, too. It must be given to the veterinary inspector in charge of meat inspection at the slaughterhouse. The document contains guarantees as regards health and possible medication of the animals (in German):
