FVO announcements: faster, more efficient, more eco-friendly - electronic

 Electronic information is fast, efficient, low-cost and eco-friendly. It is also having an ever greater impact on FVO communications: electronic newsletters for owners of farm animals and pets and also for importers, the FVO website with over 1000 pages in two to four languages, and now with a much improved search function, up-to-date databases of animal disease reports, dog trainers and travel regulations for pets have become a part of the day-to-day routine.  

The FVO "Mitteilungen" (announcements) have also not been spared this development towards increasing electronic information. In 2009, these announcements appeared every 2 weeks and were sent out to over 8000 addresses by post. In 2010, this was changed to a printed edition appearing on a quarterly basis. A stark analysis has shown that this does not allow any more added benefit to be created for the likewise 8000 or so addressees. Everything is covered in a more up-to-date and efficient way through the electronic media.

 An overview of the whole year is provided by the annual FVO Report. This will continue to be printed. Anyone who previously subscribed to the FVO "Mitteilungen" will be automatically sent the Report in the desired language (German, French, Italian or English) free of charge. Together with supplementary reports, e.g. on meat inspections, it will also be offered in electronic form on the FVO website and will be archived for several years.
